Klaxon's

Be it techno, prog rock or even classical (gasp!) talk about it here.

Klaxon's

How does one describe its sensation? Before being introduced to the Klaxon's, I was still into that whole emo shit pop genre, with the exception of Muse and the King of Pop himself, MJ. But generally my taste was very limited, it wasn't until I started seeing these 'New Wave' and electro bands that everything I listened to before was no longer relevant to me. The first group being the Klaxons.

Let me just say, I love them. Maybe its that sort of funky 80's vibe, or their somewhat electro-nerd style, but there is something about them that really triggers my interest. Every song on their major debut album Myths was brilliant - Fact. I cannot express how many times I replayed this thing.... At least enough for my Ex last year to flip out at me for playing the same over and over again. (She can be scary too... so I was wise to listen to her. :) )

I can't get myself to listen to their 2007 album at the moment because of how much I listened to it, but here's hoping the long awaited sophomore album lives up the predecessor's name. DE gave me the heads up to their new song "echo's", which is very good.

I thought the first album was patchy, but enjoyable nonetheless. Here's hoping the wait puts them back to where they belong. New song is awesome cakes.

It's really their style that I like about them the most.

I like their style too. Although, I've never really felt that classifying them as 'new rave' was appropriate. I just thought it was poor journalism, because there is nothing 'rave' about them. Even the band themselves, don't like being known as new rave.

"Golden Skans" was top-notch, still is in fact. Have you heard Erol Alkan's remix of it? I bought the album and for some reason it came with singles of both GS and "Magick". The latter has a remix by Simian Mobile Disco on it - DE have you heard this track?

Have I heard the SMD remix for Magick? Of course, mate. I like it better than the original. I actually fell out of love for the original because of that remix (though not for too long). Got to love SMD!

I was actually never a huge fan of Horsemen. Probably the only song I didn't like on Myths. I actually think As Above, So Below is one of their tops.

Horsemen clicked with me from the first listen. Just straight forward buzzy guitar and bass. The lyrics, were also pretty straightforward and more singable then many others on the album.

Horsemen is my favorite, followed by Two Receivers, and I'm listening to Echoes right now.
My obsession hit a new high. She was literally in my dreams now. And I liked it. I liked seeing her. I felt privileged.

Anyone seen the cover for their new album yet? Turns out the cat that graces the cover in a rented NASA-owned space suit is non other than the bearded frontman's cat. Surfing the Void:
